Welcome to My Academic Portfolio and Knowledge Repository.

Welcome!

If we have not connected yet, hello! My name is Daniel Shin, and I am currently a Cybersecurity Researcher at William & Mary Law School, the Assistant Director of Research at the Center for Legal & Court Technology, and a Research Scientist for the Coastal Node Commonwealth Cyber Initiative.

My main research focus is examining legal issues implicated by emerging technologies (such as artificial intelligence, internet-of-things, and blockchain) with an emphasis on cybersecurity. A substantial part of my work involves understanding emerging technologies from a technical perspective while also examining them from a legal lens. Currently, I focus primarily on the nefarious use of artificial intelligence technologies and risk mitigation techniques, examining both technical and legal dimensions.

This website serves as my personal academic portfolio and knowledge repository that showcases my current and past work as a law researcher. Please take a look around! Also, if you would like to connect, please check the Contact page for more information.

Whether you are a student, a fellow researcher, or even a reporter from a news organization, I hope this website is helpful to you. If you have any suggestions to improve this place, please let me know.
